The Facts: Cone, who was not extended an exclusive-rights tender by the Falcons, is set to workout for the Carolina Panthers on Friday, according to his agent Mark Clouser.

The Falcons signed Cone in 2011. He made the practice squad and was added to the active roster in Dec. 2011. In 2012, Cone was active for 12 games but did not play any offensive snaps. Last season, despite a rash of injuries, Cone couldn’t crack the lineup and saw Darius Johnson past him on the depth chart. Overall, he played in 28 games, mostly on special teams. He had one career catch for 12 yards. In other words, he'd fit right in with the Panthers.
