Based on everything Gonzalez said over the course of the season, it’s also going to be the end of his career. Gonzalez, who was clearly emotional on his way off the field after the team's NFC Championship loss to the Niners, said it was likely his last day in a uniform and that he’d be leaving with a clear mind. “I’ve had a great ride. Diehards Line:Gonzalez has maintained a 95 percent answer for the likelihood that this would be his last year and he didn’t waver from that in the wake of the 28-24 loss to the 49ers. Gonzalez caught eight passes for 78 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, continuing a season that made it clear there's no need for the veteran to be pushed out the door. But, as PFT's Josh Alper noted, it’s also offered few hints that Gonzalez was being swayed to continue playing.
