The Facts: Dawson signed his franchise tender and will kick in Cleveland for the 2012 season, the team announced early Monday evening. Dawson was designated as the Browns' franchise player on March 2.

Dawson's 24 field goals and 20 extra points in 2011 brought his career total to 1,155 points and moved him past Browns Legend Don Cockroft on the Browns' scoring list. Of greater interest to Fantasy owners, Dawson tied for the NFL's lead with seven field goals from 50 or more yards last season. Only San Francisco's David Akers and Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski had as many 50-yard field goals as Dawson. However, Dawson had the best percentage (87.5 percent) from 50 or more yards. ... And assuming the Browns don't make any big moves in free agency, it's safe to say Dawson will continue to be one of Cleveland's top scoring threats again this year.
