The Facts: Saunders has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2012 season for violating the National Football League's policy on performance enhancing substances. Saunders is eligible to participate in all preseason games and practices before his suspension begins on Sept. 1.
Diehards Line:Saunders, an undrafted free agent in 2011, left South Carolina after his junior season because he was kicked off the team in September, 2010 for violating team rules. That was one of the reasons he was not drafted, even though he was regarded as one of the top tight ends in the draft. Saunders was the Steelers' third tight end and caught four passes for 29 yards and one touchdown in 2011.
