The Facts: Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports the Raiders have signed Bennett to take the JaMarcus Russell's roster spot.

Diehards Line:Bennett, a former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, most recently played for the Chargers. He'll battle Rock Cartwright for a roster spot behind Darren McFadden and Michael Bush. According to Oakland Tribune staffer Jerry McDonald, Cartwright and Bennett (who took part on a tryout basis) looked explosive and productive in the team's initial mini-camp.
