The Facts: The two-year deal Crumpler signed in 2008 is up. His agent said Crumpler wants to keep playing in Tennessee. "He’ll be playing next year for somebody," agent James Williams said. "(Alge) has a home in Nashville and has enjoyed the community and his camaraderie with teammates. But now he has to deal with the business side of it."
Diehards Line:Crumpler caught 27 passes for 222 yards in 2009, his ninth NFL season. But as Tennessean staffer Jim Wyatt notes, the veteran's real value came as a blocker, helping pave the way for Chris Johnson’s success. Wyatt also noted the Titans have some question marks at the position. Bo Scaife is scheduled to be a free agent as well, although likely restricted. Craig Stevens is a solid blocker and the team has high hopes for second-year man-to-be Jared Cook but neither of the youngsters are proven commodities.
