The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... With the NFL draft five days away, the Jaguars jumped to an early head start on addressing their needs at receiver. The team agreed to terms with Holt, a 10-year veteran, on a three-year deal, according to sources.
Diehards Line:
The signing will lessen the need for the Jaguars to use the No. 8 pick in Saturday's draft on a receiver, although the club could still decide to go in that direction because of the lack of depth and -- as suggested in this week's Fantasy Notebook -- play-making capability at the position. It remains to be seen if Holt can reestablish himself as a true No. 1 receiver, but he's the closest thing the Jags have had to that since Jimmy Smith retired in 2006.
