The Facts: Two unrestricted free agents, wide receiver Ronald Curry and fullback Terrelle Smith, signed with the Detroit Lions today, the team announced. No terms were revealed.
Diehards Line:In 2006, Curry caught a career-high 62 passes for 727 yards, but was limited to 19 receptions for 181 yards and two touchdowns last season as Oakland HC Tom Cable went with younger talent at the position. Curry has caught 193 career passes for 2,347 yards. The Lions have been looking for a complementary target to go with Calvin Johnson and Bryant Johnson. ... Smith, meanwhile, played for the Cardinals for the past two seasons and has previous stints with the New Orleans Saints and the Cleveland Browns. He'll lend a physical presence to the Lions' offense.
