The Facts: Frerotte was expected to undergo further examination today to determine the extent of the damage done to his lower back late in the first half Sunday at Detroit when he made a tackle after throwing an interception. HC Brad Childress said Frerotte had a lower-back bruise but there is a chance the damage could be worse and might include a broken bone.
Diehards Line:Childress should have an update, although his history in these situations has been that he will let this play out all week. In fact, Star-Tribune staffer Judd Zulgad advised readers noto to hold their breath expecting Frerotte or Tarvaris Jackson to be declared the starter for Sunday’s game at Arizona. There is a good chance nothing will be official until Sunday morning.
