Kyle Busch - 2009 Food City
500 Winner!
At every track, there appears to be a handful
of drivers or even just one driver in particular that seems to own that
track. Whenever that driver visits that
track for a race, you and they know that it is their stock car that will lead the
pack and most surely contend for the win.
It doesn’t matter if they finished their last race with a DNF or wrecked
their primary car in practice, those special few will run supreme at their
signature tracks. When you say
restrictor plate, Earnhardt shortly follows afterwards, whether it was Dale Sr.
or Dale Jr. Talks of running at what used
to be Lowes Motor Speedway (now Charlotte Motor Speedway) were quickly added
with Jimmie Johnson. Comments about this weekend’s race at Bristol
Motor Speedway (BMS) will have the same effect; the Busch brothers. Eight races total have be won at BMS by
either Kurt Busch or Kyle
Busch. Kurt hasn’t seen the
checkered flag at BMS since March of 2006, but Kurt does hold five of the eight
wins that he and his brother share and three of those wins were consecutive. Nice job “Big K.” Oh, and let’s not forget that Kurt is the
proud winner of the last race on the NASCAR schedule at Atlanta.
Momentum is everything in NASCAR, whether it is during the race or going
into a race. Kyle has won the last two
races at BMS. So yes, it is Busch’s Bristol.
In recent
years before his move over to Stewart-Haas Racing, Ryan
Newman has fallen off his dominating podium at Bristol.
However, with this being his sophomore year with the organization and
spending his last two races at BMS in the Top 10, I believe that Ryan will be
challenging for the win this Sunday.
Ryan is still alluding to a victory at Bristol.
A fairly
recent over the ocean addition to the NASCAR Sprint Cup elite driving forces, Marcos Ambrose, has made some waves racing the just
over a half-mile track at BMS. Marcos
has finished in the Top ten for his only two races at Bristol.
Marcos has proven that he has the “came out of nowhere” mentality when
he drives the high-banked track and cautiously steers away from wrecks and
pile-ups like a veteran racer. Lots of
good things coming from the #47 team this weekend.
