Finishers
|
|
Matt Kenseth
Roush Fenway Racing –
Ford
Point Standings: 1st
|
|
I may be taking away the potential glory of Matt’s attempt
at a three-peat, but statistically Matt doesn’t have a chance of getting into
victory lane this Sunday at LVMS. Matt
does however have the experience at Vegas to make it into the Top ten like he
has done five out of the nine times he has raced in Nevada.
Denny Hamlin
Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota
Point Standings: 15th
|
|

Denny might not be the golden child at Joe Gibbs, but he
will be putting some trophies on the shelf at JGR. Like for instance, this weekend Denny has a
higher probability of getting a Top ten than any other driver because out of
three races he has the highest average finish with a 7.3.
Jimmie Johnson
Hendrick Motorsports -
Chevrolet
Point Standings: 19th
|
|

Jimmie is supposed to be the driver who you can depend on to
be consistent for most of the races at most of the tracks, but I have said it
before this season already that Jimmie is not going to be doing too much this
soon to impress us. Unless of course a
Top ten is what you are looking for then you will be totally satisfied with
Jimmie’s success this Sunday.
Jeff Burton
Richard Childress Racing
– Chevrolet
Point Standings: 31st
|
|

Jeff is 31st in points. Is that a lucky sign? When in Vegas, gambling is a must. That is exactly what Jeff is going to have to
do to get himself out of this point’s hole.
Jeff has the chance to get a Top ten out of this track if he does
exactly the same thing he did last year in the spring race. Yes, easier said then done, but what do you
think the crew chiefs say to their drivers before a race? Just Kidding Mr. Scott
Miller.

Carl Edwards
Roush Fenway Racing –
Ford
Point Standings: 9th
|
|

This weekend for the Shelby 427
Carl may be the driver who is defending his win from last spring’s race in
2008, but that is about the jest of it.
It seems like the Roush stable has done some changing of the guard and
the top horse may not be the one that back flips. Other than his win last season at LVMS, he
has an additional Top 10 out of four starts.

|
Kyle Busch
Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota
Point Standings: 18th
|
|

A friend asked me to aide him on deciding who he should bet
on this Sunday for the race for some on-line betting site. He was unsure of the format and had never bet
on a NASCAR race. Guess who came to mind
instantly? Kyle Busch. When in comes to picking a sure thing, Kyle
will make it well worth your while.
Track Stats

Las Vegas Motor Speedway
(Las Vegas, NV)
- LVMS
Shelby 427
(Sister Flat Tracks – Indianapolis, Phoenix, Pocono, & New Hampshire)
Reader Board
“Matt is the MAN with two consecutive wins, but is
Las Vegas going to be the track this Sunday to make it three in a row?”
Jason L. – Pennsylvania
I checked the forecast for this Sunday on weather.com
and Las Vegas
is expected to have a High of 72 degrees, mostly cloudy, and a 10% chance
of rain. That equates to Matt having
a 10% chance of getting three wins in a row.
