Week 2 - Dollar Store ($1 Free Agents)
by Matthew Cherrin

Lorenzo Taliaferro- Baltimore RB
We all heard about Ray Rice this week, and if you had Bernard Peirce starting this last Sunday, you no longer have any trust in the former Temple running back. Justin Forsette got most of the touches against the Bengals after Peirce fumbled the ball, but Lorenzo Taliaferro is a young running back the Ravens have been raving about. The 22 year old out of Coastal Carolina is 6 foot tall and 226 pounds. He showed a lot of promise in the preseason, and he definitely has big body that can take and give a lot of punishment. Watch to see who gets most of the touches in the next few weeks, but keep Taliaferro on your radar. He is a good dollar free agent pickup this week before he gets expensive.

Levine Toilolo- Atlanta TE
There are a few good rookie and 2nd year tight ends in the league this year, but the Falcons Levine Toilolo might be in the best situation to make an immediate impact just because he has Matt Ryan at quarterback. It can’t be easy replacing Tony Gonzales, but Toilolo did a good job Sunday after recording his first ever touchdown. He only had three receptions for 19 yards last week against the Saints, but he did find the end zone, which should give Matt Ryan and fantasy owners more confidence going forward. Toilolo is a big target at 6’8, 265 pounds. Look for him to emerge this season. You might be able to get him on the cheap side this week.

Andre Caldwell- Broncos WR
Many fantasy owners thought Cody Latimer would see more playing time after We Welker was suspended. That’s didn’t seem to be the case last week when the Broncos faced off against the Colts as Andre Caldwell filled in as the main slot receiver. He didn’t produce much, but Caldwell is definitely worth a dollar pick up just because he is in a Peyton Manning offense. Low risk, high reward; pick up Caldwell for a buck today.

Brian Quick- Rams WR
Even though the Rams had an abysmal start to their 2014 season, one spark came from wide receiver Brain Quick as he recorded seven receptions for 99 yards. Quick was selected in the second round from the 2012 draft, and it looks like he is emerging as the number one option in St. Louis. The Rams’ coaches spoke very highly of Quick in the off-season, and the former the Appalachian State player is a tall target at 6’3. Quick is a great dynasty or keeper league prospect, and he is available in most leagues. Pick him up for a buck.

Teddy Bridgewater- Vikings QB
Don’t expect the former Louisville quarterback to see any action on the field soon, but Teddy Bridgewater is a great prospect in dynasty and keeper leagues if you have room on your roster. Bridgewater looked great at times in preseason, and at some point this year I expect Bridgewater to play since Matt Cassel is most likely going to fail at some point in the 2014 season. The Vikings have plenty of weapons to make Bridgewater a quality quarterback in the NFL. Kyle Rudolf, Greg Jennings, Adrian Peterson and the young-gun phenomenon Corderelle Patterson is a great supporting cast for any quarterback in the league. Look for Bridgewater early in the season, because he might not be there later.
