Week 13 - Buy & Sell Report
By Mike Beacom

The waiver wire pickup that could give your lineup a late-season boost is the rookie wide receiver from LSU. No, not that LSU rookie – Odell Beckham is already off-limits. Try Miami’s Jarvis Landry instead.

Against Denver, quarterback Ryan Tannehill looked to Landry 11 times – nearly twice as many looks as any other Dolphins receiver. Landry finished the game with 50 yards and two scores, giving him four scores in the past four games.

No, he’s not Odell Beckham, but Jarvis Landry is a superstar in the making, and he’s someone fantasy owners can plug in and play during the final weeks of the regular season.

Here are a few other waiver wire candidates to consider ...

RB Latavius Murray, Raiders
Sometimes all it takes is one play – or, in this case, one 90-yard run in which Murray cut back against the defense and raced down the sideline to paydirt against the Chiefs. It was an impressive run against one of the league’s top run defense – and produced Murray’s second score of the game. Think Oakland will continue to feed this young back? Oh yeah. They’ve just about given up on Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew, so why not?

WR Stedman Bailey, Rams
Excuse me if I do not sell this pickup with enthusiasm, but Bailey’s seven-catch, 89-yard performance warrants his inclusion on this week’s list. It was an impressive breakthrough for a wide receiver who had been thrown to just 10 times in his previous eight games combined. The Rams passing attack is shaky, so consider Bailey only out of desperation.

The waiver wire isn’t the only way for fantasy owners to improve their roster; a well-crafted trade proposal can help every bit as much as picking up an up-and-coming free agent. Here is a look at this week’s buy and sell candidates:

{BUY}

RB Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks
Lynch is fresh off his worst outing of the year (2.6 yards per carry). This means he is an excellent buy low candidate. And because many of his owners are worried about the locker room chatter, they might just be willing to let him go at this critical time of the season.

WR Julian Edelman, Patriots
Last week, Edelman set season highs in catches (11) and targets (15). Don’t think of it as a high-mark for the year, but rather a sign of what’s to come. Last season he caught 11 or more passes in five of the last six games and could repeat that in 2014. The Patriots are still a multiple-back offense and will rely on the short passing game (Edelman) to move the sticks.

{SELL}

RB Alfred Morris, Redskins
Morris’ first 100-yard game of the season – against the 49ers, no less – couldn’t have come at a better time for fantasy owners looking to unload the young back. Morris has been poisoned by a Washington offense that has struggled to find consistency. He has been consistent, but not elite as he was a season ago. Send him packing for something better.

WR Anquan Boldin, 49ers
Same as Morris, Boldin, too, is coming off his best game to date. But his 137 yards on Sunday do not represent what he is or what fantasy owners can expect down the stretch. The 49ers passing game is still tinkering with its parts and too unstable for fantasy owners to rely on.
